Your telephone system is due to evolve.

Mocet iPad Phone.
Not so long ago, communicating with your customers and potential clients was limited to the Great British Postal Service and the Humble Analogue Telephone. Do you remember picking up the newspaper, walking the dog, waving at the postmen and then heading home to check for missed calls on the answering machine?

No so today, with the big tech giants pushing the boundaries of technology at an increased rate which is fueled by the phenomenon of the internet. Good ole' 'Shep the dog' has died (bless), he's been replaced by one of those cutting edge, 3D printed, electronic pets and a Virtual Talking Cat on your iPad. The Answer Machine is dead, now you check your facebook page for messages from those too lazy (or too busy) to call..

With big business spreading bets on the long term strategy of worldwide connectivity, its the norm for online shopping and same day delivery. The British Public has reached a Plataea of internet acceptance which has not been dampened with the OpenSSL hack or Cryptolocker Virus. Ignorance is bliss because, despite iCloud, eBay and other large online retailers being hacked, we still fall deeper into the rabbit hole of technology.

The industry that followed Facebook in search of higher profit margins has striven to 'be liked'. Now this same industry has to tame a bigger beast, the company facebook page, and with it a baying mob of either ecstatic or unhappy customers. While the geeks in big business have been poking each other, we were commenting on business pages that some brands were not up to scratch or that services had been poor. This has firmly established the facebook for business era.

Its not quite as clear cut as that. If you sell a big brand of biscuits and want to give a few away for 'Likes' (Caffe Thins or Party Rings if you're reading Vinnie) then you're sure to get a few positive comments. However, if you're a bank, estate agent, broadband provider or a local authority then you'll be aware that a certain amount of time is spent keeping disgruntled customers from tapping a few keys and soiling your facebook page.

Its safe to say that dealing with incoming calls on your telephone system is bound to change over the next 5 years and this has yet to be fully realised by tech giants. More customers are getting a response faster (usually within an hour) by posting a complaint on facebook. There have been studies earlier this year (the exact article escapes me - try google) that posting on facebook is more productive than 3 regular phone calls at up to 40 minutes including as much grinding hold music in your headset as you can handle.

How can you guarantee your call center team is ready to deal with this persistent wave of facebooking grannies and tweeting twenty-somethings? The Mocet IP3092 picture, shown at the top, is one example of a telephone companies ingenuity and acceptance that business phone systems will at some point need to embrace personal computing. We already have Android and iPhones just to manage our weekly shopping or organise our personal calendar. Why shouldn't your business phone system do the same?

Its entirely plausible that a great deal of this technology will be fitted into a wrist worn device or bolted onto the side of your glasses as we near 2020, graphics processors are being pushed forward by the booming computer games industry and parallel processing has been around for some 10 years. With all this processing power and increased connectivity speeds it seems likely that current business phone solutions have a lifespan of only a few years.

New technology moves on relentlessly and we envisage a large proportion of telephone waste which is great news for us because we get to play to our strengths. We can help you recycle your used phone systems when you upgrade. If your phone system isn't cutting it today, give us a call and we can deal with the removal, disposal and recycling.

Working with the 3CX Phone System

3CX App on Mobile Phone.
We sometimes get asked about our thoughts on Cloud based PBX solutions.

From what we understand here at Systems Recycling, Cloud Based PBX is a very viable option for running an 'over the internet' phone system. When moving into our new office we researched many cloud based options and found them to make a lot of sense.

It was during this time that we opted out of a cloud based solution due to the lack of fibre broadband at our location. We spoke to a company called 3CX which offered us a software based PBX system to start. 3CX Phone System for Windows is a software-based IP PBX that replaces a proprietary hardware PBX / PABX. 3CX’s IP PBX has been developed specifically for Microsoft Windows and is based on the SIP standard, making it easier to manage and allowing you to use any SIP phone

I do believe that 3CX are working towards offering a cloud service in the near future, if they havn't already. I was impressed with the ability to use an 'App' on my Android mobile phone which connected to the 3CX system over the internet and I was able to install a 3CX SIP phone at a remote location and quickly set up a tunnel just by following the guides online.

It took a little while to flash the 3CX firmware into my ageing Cisco 7940 but once this was done it was a matter of a few clicks to install on my dual core computer to get the MAC address registered.

While 3CX wont suit everyone its certainly a viable option and may well support your existing Fanvil, Snom, Yealink, Polycom and Cisco Phones.

Destruction, Recycling and Refurbishing of used phone systems

Phone System Removal
UK Phone Systems Removal Service.
Making the most of your yearly budget is difficult enough. Directors and managers responsible for allocation of finances may be concerned that bridging the gap between profit and loss is challenging when its time to move office location and change business headquarters. In the case of public services and local government (with a responsibility for correct management of public funding) buying and / or replacing computer and telecoms equipment can be all consuming, and recovering costs from existing technology should be a priority.

The hubs of industry and commerce in the UK such as Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh and London. Large corporations, banks and local authorities are leading the way in correctly managing surplus technology.

Its smart business to make sure that the challenges of disposal and refurbishment of telecoms and computer equipment are met head on. Disposing of redundant telecoms equipment ethically should be embraced by small, medium and large business around the UK regardless.

Here are some tips to ensure that Systems Recycling can help you to process your phone systems and IT equipment with minimum fuss. We will do our best to support you in your evaluation so that we can collect, process and recycle quickly.

  • List all items that are currently not in use and ready to be collected.
  • Be aware that remaining telephones, desk phones and headsets still in use can not be included in the collection estimate and separate arrangements need to be made when the equipment is no longer required.
  • Ensure you have correctly counted and not estimated the number of handsets, desk-phones, system cards and surplus equipment so we can more accurately assess your needs.
  • If you have a business located  in a high traffic area, check if you have a parking or a loading bay area for our team and check how much time can be allocated for parking.
  • Are your items working or not working? Tested handsets and headsets should be labeled to ease our evaluation.
  • Are you also responsible for clearing office furniture? Speak to us about our Furniture clearance service. We have already assisted companies just like your to remove hundreds of desks, chairs and cabinets.
We strive to make the whole process seamless from start to finish. If you would like more information on the services we provide please contact us either by email or telephone as listed at the top of this page. To see our main website please visit Systems Recycling Ltd.

Phone System Buyers - Who to choose?

telephone system buyers
Compare Buyers of Used Phone Systems.
Businesses searching for buyers of phone systems, either when clearing old stock or moving office location, are partnering with Systems Recycling to get a quick turnover of unwanted, redundant telecommunications technology.

Unfortunately, for a lot of businesses, moving location or headquarters is a stressful time. Finding a new location, moving employee's and trying to maintain the current IT and telecoms infrastructure creates headaches for your technical team.

It doesn't matter if your looking to dispose, recycle or reclaim Cisco, Avaya or Plantronics telecoms kit because you have a new system in place or you've downsized your company to remain competitive. The choice of companies ready to buy your old phone system is limited and the ability to compare the buyers directly is no easy task. In many cases we've found customers unable to get a valuation over the telephone or to arrange any kind of visit to the premises to evaluate the phone system you have in place.

When choosing the right company you need consider the following points.

  • Does the company collect quickly at a time convenient to you?
  • Does the company pay a fair price for any equipment with residual value?
  • Does your phone system require collection or dismantling before removal?
  • How will the company pay? Is cash, cheque, credit card or back transfer possible?
  • Are the desk phones tested or do they require testing?
  • Is the phone system of little value and requires a collection cost?
  • Is heavy and dangerous work involved in removal?
Systems Recycling Ltd understand the industry with over 25 years experience of telecoms purchasing, recycling and distribution. You could do a lot worse than speak to one of our helpful team and discuss your requirements with us or send a quick email outlining the kind of telephone systems and handsets you need to dispose of.

We specialise in quick and easy removal of large redundant telecoms installations such as our more recent work at Monarch Airlines or just quick collections of telephones that are a few years old and are already boxed and ready.

Compare buyers by all means, but look at our portfolio of satisfied clients and read some of our case studies on our main website Telephone Recycling

Telephone Disposal - What does it involve?

How to dispose of old phones and technology
Telephone Recycling and Disposal for Business.
Your phone system is important to you, handling the majority of communications throughout your company. When the time comes to upgrade (and lifetimes for new telecommunications technology get shorter by the year), you will be left with the old handsets, headsets and curly cords cluttering up your office.

Eventually all old phone systems will end up at the end of life pile that gathers dust and poses a growing risk either as an obstruction hazard or fire hazard. Around this time its important for someone to take responsibility and make a call to a professional I.T. and Telecoms Waste Disposal and Recycling Centre.

Systems Recycling can collect your old phone system for free and in many cases we can offer you residual value on the handsets, headsets and system cards that are still within the lifespan offered out by the manufacturer.
Some desk phones will be worth more than others, partly due to condition but also due to additional features, upgrades, quality of plastics and colour of device. What we do find with System phones is that a large proportion are deemed as faulty and beyond monetary value so we work on the basis that 10 to 20 percent of telephones are faulty on collection. Of course you are welcome to test and guarantee the phones are operating correctly and this will increase the value.
Where old phones are no longer of any use, we are happy to collect for free and dispose of ethically. This saves you the headache of recycling yourself.
Interestingly, over the past 10 years the increase in business looking to dispose of old mobile phone technology has increased. We are also able to accommodate the recycling of old mobile phones but the majority of the time we will not offer you any monetary value as the lifespan of the mobile phones are barely 2 years under business contracts.
We play to our strengths here at Systems Recycling so give us a call today or visit our website.

Just Kampers recycle old phone system

Clearance of Business Phone System
JustKampers started in 1989
with only a single mobile phone.
In 1989, Mark Reynolds founded Just Kampers on his Birthday, September 1st, as he couldn’t get motor traders insurance before he was 22 years old.

The business started as a 'one man band' workshop, specialising in the repair of VW Campers, at the Old Pump House in Bagshot, Surrey.  The premises were so small that with the doors closed there wasn't enough room for Mark to actually work on a Camper. So the doors were always open which was less than ideal in cold weather and whenever the sky turned grey a tarpaulin had to be draped over the workshop doors to keep the rain off!

The Old Pump House didn't have a land-line telephone connection so Mark had to make use of one of the ironically titled ‘Motorola Transportable’ mobile phones – With a battery pack about the same size, and weight as a car battery, it really wasn’t all that transportable!

25 Years later, Just Kampers have grown into the UK's premier specialist automotive parts & accessories supplier for VW Campers, Vans, Transporters, & Beetles. T1, T2, T25, T4, T5, & Beetle ranges.

Systems Recycling are proud to have been able to assist JK with the removal of their old phone system.
