With all the fuss about climate change over the past 30 years or so, raising awareness of recycling has become a year long mission for the environmentalists. Household items are widely recycled such as glass and plastics. In the office, recycling of paper and plastic cups has become a no brainer, as the paperless office still looks to be some way off into the future.

The April 22 Earth Day is usually celebrated with outdoor performances, where individuals or groups perform acts of service to earth. Typical ways of observing Earth Day include planting trees, picking up roadside rubbish and conducting various programs for recycling and conservation. You may see more TV programs dealing with environmental issues.

The April 22 Earth Day, founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson, was first organized in 1970 to promote ecology and respect for life on the planet as well as to encourage awareness of the growing problems of air, water and soil pollution.

Many business's, schools and charities in the UK are starting to realise that recycling of old electrical items such as computers, telephone, monitors and screens is just as important as recycling paper and cardboard. More and more offices upgrade to newer technology as the I.T. industry rockets ahead in terms of speed and social integration.

Our job at Systems Recycling is to keep business's clear of old redundant technology by recycling desk phones and laptops into re-usable materials such as metals and plastics.
